CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE

Christopher Marlowe was born in Canterbury in the same year as Shakespeare, 1564. He attended the Cambridge University but his frequent absences let it out of the school and he should have to serve Her Majesty to not be p 626b14g enalized. In 1587, the poet moved to London where became the most important playwriter. He was killed in a tavern during a brawl. His bad temperament urged him in frequent brawls. He was very young when he died but he was a prolific writer and we've got a large number of his plays. He's an ambiuguous character of the English literature. He was said to be a spy and he didn't believe in God. He used to say that man tries to win his destiny.

Marlowe wrote five dramatic masterpieces: "Tamburlaine the Great", "Doctor Faustus"* , "The Jew of Malta", "Edward II", "Dido" and "Queen of Carthage".

*The Tragical history of Doctor Faustus tells about a man that sells his soul to the devil to get power and riches for all the coure of his life. The devil will turn back after twenty-four years and Faustus will have to serve him. The devil will give Faustus's soul to Hell.

Marlowe scrisse cinque opere drammatiche: "Tamburlaine the Great", "Doctor Faustus"*, "The Jew of Malta", "Edward II", "Dido" e "Queen of Carthage".
